Wedding Photography FAQ
I am a natural style documentary wedding photographer
First and foremost I would describe myself as a natural, documentary wedding photographer. It may also be termed a storybook wedding photographer. This reflects how I will proceed during the day as my "standard mode". Ideally, the majority of shots I take during the day are natural and spontaneous moments. Occasionally, if it helps get a shot I'd otherwise miss, I may 'cheat' and ask you to do something again - or more slowly. Obviously, I'd only do this where appropriate (i.e.. not during the ceremony!).
However, a wedding is a long day - so I am happy to be suddenly asked to try for a certain shot if an opportunity presents itself that would make a great picture... I am flexible and accommodating, very mindful of the fact it is YOUR DAY; so will be there with you and for you.
I am based near Newark in the East Midlands - but am happy to take my wedding photography to wherever potentially. So far, my wedding photography has taken me down to the Cotswolds ~ and up to North Yorkshire... Anything beyond 2hrs driving range may require a slight addition to the price to cover basic overnight accommodation.
For instance, I have spent many happy hours exploring Dartmoor in Devon; So would be very happy to photograph a wedding on Dartmoor!
HOW LONG WILL IT TAKE TO GET THE PHOTOS AND WHAT PHOTOS WILL I GET?
Ideally, I will aim to get the edited photos to you within a few weeks. However, in the busy middle of the year 'wedding season' period, it might take longer than this - so may take up to 4 - 6 weeks.
The online gallery will typically contain most, if not all, the final edited photos. The full size edited photos will be sent to you via a link from which you can download your photos for printing / safekeeping.. Typically, you can expect 400 - 500 final edited photos for a full days wedding photography. These are carefully chosen by me in the editing process to be the best ones that highlight the story of the day.
The nature of your wedding day will dictate how many final photos there will be. Each wedding is different, but the more activities goings on during the day, the more likely this will create more photo opportunities. The more distracted the guests are with things to do, the easier it is to photograph spontaneous moments. But you can be assured I will photograph and cover everything with the same verve and attention to detail for the whole duration I am at your day.
WHAT CAN WE DO WITH THE FINAL EDITED PHOTOS
The photos are yours for personal use without any restriction. You will receive the full highest resolution versions of the photos - free of any watermarks etc...
As is usual with this kind of photography, I will remain the copyright holder of the images (which are released to you under licence) . All this means is that you are restricted in a commercial sense – ie. selling the photos for profit or entering them into competitions as your own work etc.
I have both Public Liability and Personal Indemnity insurance - which are essential for wedding photography. I also have an enhanced DBS police check.
To secure your wedding date with me I will require a [non refundable] booking fee of £200. The final balance being due by 1 week prior to the wedding date.
