A Few Words About Me...
I would consider myself first and foremost a documentary wedding photographer, being otherwise described as "reportage" or "photo journalistic" wedding photography. This may also be referred to as "un posed wedding photography". In essence, I will aim to capture the day as it happens; naturally; rather than trying to orchestrate a series of posed photographs.
I have loved photography for many years, but documentary wedding photography is something I have evolved into from photographing whatever I stumbled across in nature whilst exploring the countryside. My passion for capturing details in what largely goes unnoticed has taught me to seek out situations in moments that otherwise might be lost due to their fleeting and / or unobvious nature. This philosophy means that during a wedding day I will proactively seek out details without the need to be instructed. I will dart around ever alert for any unposed wedding photography moment to capture for your posterity.
I am based in the East Midlands, UK. Although I usually tend to shoot weddings / events around the Midlands, I am happy to travel further afield. I love the Scottish Highlands - so would be happy to shoot a wedding there! Also, my favourite place of escape and adventure is Dartmoor. So, naturally, anyone getting married here would be of great interest to me - so please get in touch!
One of the main words that seems to crop up when people describe my documentary wedding photography style is "unobtrusive". I achieve this by mingling amongst the goings on during the wedding day's proceedings - or where more appropriate, keeping out of the way while remaining ever on the look out to capture key moments. Moments that during such an eventful day are likely to be as fleeting as they are often.
In addition to my documentary wedding photography shooting style as described above, if you do want a few group shots then I am happy to break off from my 'default mode' and take such photos. I am more than happy to be 'grabbed' at any point in the day and asked to take a certain shot or other - if that is what you wish.... It is your day - so of course, I will do all I can to accommodate your wishes.
As a result, my documentary wedding photography will be an honest and personal reflection of your happy day - encapsulating the warmth, feelings and emotions - of which there will be plenty on such a day as this, your special wedding day...
